When you and your companions arrive at the Underdark, you may come across a quest called Find the Mushroom Picker. To complete this quest, you’ll need to get your hands on some Noblestalk.

How to get Noblestalk mushroom
To acquire the Noblestalk mushroom, you’ll need to save it from the nearby Bibberbang mushrooms in the Underdark’s northwest corner. Bibberbang mushrooms will explode on impact, so one wrong move and the Noblestalk could disappear with a bang.
Here are some safe ways of getting to the Noblestalk without setting off an explosion.
- Misty Step – You can cast this spell to teleport to a safe spot near the Noblestalk. You also have the option of using the Misty Step scroll you come across during the Find the Mushroom Picker quest.
- Mage Hand – With this spell, you can conjure up a magical hand and pick the Noblestalk from a distance.
- Jump – Using a character with enough Strength, you can try to safely navigate the area by jumping over some of the Bibberbang mushrooms.
With the Noblestalk now in your possession, it’s time to proceed with the quest and figure out what to do with the quest item.
How to use Noblestalk?
You can give the Noblestalk to a number of people in the game, but giving it to Baelen, Derryth, or Shadowheart seem to be the most popular choices among players. Baelen and Derryth are the two NPCs involved in the Find the Mushroom Picker quest while Shadowheart is one of your companions.

Give the Noblestalk to Derryth
If you decide to give the mushroom to Derryth, her mood will lighten up towards you and she will invite you to her shop in Baldur’s Gate. You will also receive the Gloves of Uninhibited Kushigo.
Cure Baelen with the Noblestalk
Giving the Noblestalk to Baelen will cure him of his condition and you get to see an interesting scene unfold between him and Derryth. That’s pretty much it, though since you won’t be receiving any sort of reward.
Use Noblestalk on Shadowheart
Giving Shadowheart the Noblestalk can lead to her remembering a childhood friend named Rennald, adding an entry to the Daughter of Darkness companion questline.
