Where to find the Cauldron locations in Horizon Forbidden West PC

In Horizon Forbidden West, these small dungeons, also known as Cauldrons, are scattered all over for you to find. If you’ve played Horizon Zero Dawn, you know all about them and are no stranger to what may lie ahead.

By locating and successfully finishing each Cauldron in Horizon Forbidden West, you will learn how to override certain types of machines - and you can find the full Horizon Forbidden West machines list in our handy guide, first and foremost. Having a friendly robotic machine on your side will be beneficial to you, especially when it comes to battling those who are against you.

With six Cauldrons to find in Horizon Forbidden West and one more in the DLC expansion, Burning Shores, finding the locations will keep you on your toes. Luckily, that’s where we’ve come in to help.

All Horizon Forbidden West Cauldron locations

So, when you find the Cauldrons in Horizon Forbidden West, you also receive rewards. Where are these Cauldrons, what machines can you override and what are the rewards? All the information you need to know is right below:

  • TAU - This one is flagged for you (it will be called Sacred Cave by Zo)
    Rewards: 9,000 XP, two skill points
    Machines: Bristleback, Plowhorn (partial, Grimhorn (partial)
  • MU - South of Plainsong, Southwest of Stone’s Echo
    Rewards: 8,000 XP, three skill points
    Machines: Burrower, Scrounger, Grazer, Scrapper (partial), Fanghorn (partial), Widemaw (partial)
  • IOTA - North of the Scalding Spear (Once you defeat all of the Tracker Burrowers, you should see a fallen tree near the cave’s entrance)
    Rewards: 10,000 XP, three skill points
    Machines: Leaplasher, Glinthawk, Lancehorn, Longleg, Clawstrider, Skydrifter (partial), Bellowback (partial), Ravager (partial), Snapmaw (partial), Rollerback (partial)
  • GEMINI - West of The Shining Wastes Tallneck ( You will find your way here after you finish the Faro’s Tomb quest)
    Rewards: 15,000 XP, two skill points
    Machines: Sunwing
  • CHI - Southeast of Thornmarsh (if you find the Raintrace West Rebel outpost, you’re closeby)
    Rewards: 12,500 XP, three skill points
    Machines: Frostclaw, Redeye Watcher, Shell-Walker, Clamberjaw, Behemoth, Stalker (partial), Shellsnapper (partial), Spikesnout (partial), Scorcher (partial), Fireclaw (partial)
  • KAPPA - Northwest corner on the map
    Rewards: 12,500 XP, three skill points
    Machines: Rockbreaker, Tideripper, Tremortusk, Stormbird, Thunderjaw (partial), Slitherfang (partial), Dreadwing (partial), Slaughterspine (partial)
  • THETA (Burning Shores) - East of Fleet’s End, North of Pangea Park
    Rewards: 12,500 XP, three skill points
    Machines: Bilegut
