The Whispering Depths is a secret location in Baldur’s Gate 3, so you and your companions may not even find it at all. Going through the dungeon does provide you with some good loot and an extra way into the Underdark though, so it is worth seeking out.

Whispering Depths location
The Whispering Depths is located underneath the Blighted Village. There are a couple of ways into the dungeon, and you can access the area during Act 1.
The first and more popular way of entering the Whispering Depths is through the well in the central square of the Blighted Village. Pass a perception check after approaching the well and you’ll be able to jump in and enter the Whispering Depths.
The other entrance to the Whispering Depths is inside the house of the Blacksmith in the northeast corner of the Blighted Village. Once inside the house, you’ll need to make your way to the basement through a hole in one of the rooms and break a cracked wall to get into the dungeon.
How to beat Phase Spider Matriarch boss
You can start preparing for the Phase Spider Matriarch boss fight as soon as you enter the Whispering Depths. To do this, you’ll need to destroy all of the eggs you find throughout the dungeon.
While you fight the Phase Spider Matriarch, it can teleport from place to place, bringing the eggs along with her. These eggs can hatch during the battle, spawning more giant spiders for you to fight.
Of course, destroying these eggs before the encounter will mean the matriarch won’t have any to hatch after teleporting, making the encounter much easier. Casting fire spells on the eggs is an effective way of destroying them.
After defeating the boss, you can pick up the Dark Amethyst which is important for the Search the Cellar quest. You will also gain access to another entrance into the Underdark.
