It's pretty plain to see that the Xbox Series X looks better, but if you don't have the TV required to actually take advantage of that then you might be better off just getting the Xbox Series S instead.

What else is there to consider?

Of course, it's not just graphics, even if you don't have a super-powerful TV.

Ultimately the Xbox Series X is more powerful, and that means that games will generally perform a lot better there. That's not just how the speed at which they run or the FPS either, that means better loading times too.

It's tough to consider so many factors when you're looking at getting a new console, but Microsoft is aiming to support the Series S for the foreseeable future, so if that's the one you can afford then you'll still be getting a next-gen console at a far lower price.

While the Series X is better technically, unless loading times and fancy lighting effects mean the world to you, you can definitely do just fine with the Series S.
