When downloading a game, whether on Steam or your new console, there can come a time where the download bar is moving slower than usual.
It can take a long period to figure out the cause, which could be the router, or a result of too many users online at once.
But with a new feature coming for both Xbox Series S/X, they’re going to soon be able to let you know exactly what the issue is.
With that, let’s look into this feature and when it may be arriving officially.
What is the New Feature?
If you’re an Xbox user, you register as an ‘Insider’, which can enable you to access features in testing that Microsoft are currently introducing and fine-tuning.
One in particular is when you’re downloading a game or an application, and the speed is slower than usual. When the console notices this, a notification will pop up, explaining what is the likely reason for it, and will advise you to rectify it.
It’s incredibly useful, because we’ve all been in that situation where we’re lost as to what’s causing a slow download.
Hopefully now, we will know exactly why a download is slower, and what we can do to resolve it.

When will it be released?
Usually a feature in a test ring will stay there for a few months, and after feedback and refinements, it’s released as part of a seasonal update.
It’s something that’s been the standard for Microsoft’s products, including Windows 10 and their other services.
It’s likely that we will see this feature be rolled out in the new year, especially once Microsoft have fixed the bugs that are currently high-priority for new Xbox Series S/X owners.
However, it’s great to see useful features like these pop up now and again; it helps reduce those steps so that more time can be spent for Cyberpunk when a frustrating issue appears.
