Upcoming PS5 games: 7 titles to showcase your PlayStation 5 at its best

The PS5 is finally out. Albeit in a somewhat restricted fashion, if the amount of people without one is anything to go by.

It's a good time to be a PlayStation fan, but let's not kid ourselves here, there are not all that many exclusives to jump into at the moment.

The good news is that that'll change as time goes on, and there are loads of good games to look forwards too.

In fact, here are our picks for the seven most-exciting games coming to PS5.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

The Ratchet and Clank series has been (mostly) excellent throughout. The plucky Lombax and the wonderful Clank have been the kind of pair that other pairs want to be like. It's also one of the prettiest series around, especially after the reboot for PS4. Well, Rift Apart looks even more incredible, and we're incredibly excited to play it.

Horizon: Forbidden West

Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most highly-regarded PS4 games going, and the fact that it was made by a team who previously mostly did FPS games is astounding. The next game in the series promises another beautiful open-world to explore alongside even more robot dinosaurs to battle. What more could you want.

Final Fantasy XVI

The Final Fantasy series constantly changes, turns, and sometimes hits and misses. Overall though, it's a titan of RPGs that pushes a lot of the genre forwards or at least tries new things. While reactions to 15 were mixed, excitement for 16 is pretty high. It looks stunning, and while we've no idea what kind of game it'll end up being, it's definitely one to watch.

Deathloop

Deathloop has two assassin's trapped in a time loop fighting against each other. One of them likes it there, the other very much doesn't. You get to play that scenario out and see what happens in the end. We've got a lot of faith that Arkane is going to do something incredible with this game, and we can't wait to play it.

Stray

As a cat in a neon-lit robot-filled future, you've got quite the playground in front of you. Not a huge amount is known about the story, but it's got a cat with a cute little backpack, and honestly what more could you possibly want from a game?

Gran Turismo 7

Racing games are always the best way to show off just how impressive your console can make a game look. The next Gran Turismo game is going to be exactly the same, with more lights rebounding off of incredibly-detailed cars than ever before. Sure, you'll never get your car that shiny in real life, but that's not the point.
