Touch Controls on xCloud? What controllers work with xcloud, how do touch controllers work, and are they any good?

Project xCloud is Microsoft's game streaming service. It allows you to play your games anywhere you want, and on a plethora of different devices.

It's going to be launched on September 15th on Android devices, and you'll even be able to subscribe to both it and Xbox Game Pass to basically be able to play anything.

It's a pretty phenomenal thing, but a lot of people are wondering how on earth you can play Xbox games on a mobile phone.

So, here is everything you need to know about controls and xCloud.

How do touch controls work on xCloud

As it stands, touch controls may not be the standard. However, as reported on by Gamespot, The Coalition Senior Gameplay Prodfuecer, Jarret Bradley, did talk a bit about how they've approached touch controls.

"As we started to dig into it, we realized that the best thing for us to do was to treat this as a different input device. Like we already support keyboard and mouse, controller, and we have customized controls and remapping. We have custom layouts for basically anything you can do in the game."

They've even hidden some more contextual controls behind other inputs, which helps to keep the screen clutter-free.

This isn't the case across the entire service as of yet, but each company will approach things differently.

What other controllers work on xCloud

The good news is that most Bluetooth controllers seem to work with the service. So, that means you can use your Xbox One controller or a third-party version.

It also means that you can use a DualShock 4 controller, or even a Nintendo Switch Pro controller. Which means the chances are that even if you don't have an Xbox, you could use this new service easily.

There are even some incredibly cool controllers that Microsoft has had made specifically for the service. The main benefit of these is that they tend to have ways to attach to a phone, which makes things a lot easier in the long run.
