PS5 launch day: What time does the console come out, and how/where can you buy one?

With the PS5 out in the UK on November 19, lots of people are getting excited about the prospect of getting their hands on the new titan of console gaming.

We mean that in the most literal sense as it's the largest console you'll have likely ever seen, and you may need to consider moving just to fit it into your home.

It's worth it though with the pure power it offers and the promise of those wonderful PlayStation exclusives a little bit further down the line.

So, if you're one of the people that didn't manage to pre-order a console but you still want to pick one up, here's what you need to know.

What time will the PS5 be available from?

Due to the way the PS5 is being launched (you can read more about that below), you should be able to order a PS5 more or less as soon as the day starts.

This might not necessarily be at 00:01 though, as it might all coincide with the working day and that would mean 9 am.

Our advice is to go to whichever site you plan on ordering it from and signing up for notifications.

Where will you be able to buy a PS5?

This is important, and it comes from the PlayStation Blog itself. "No units will be available in-store for purchase on launch day (November 12 or November 19, depending on your region) – please don’t plan on camping out or lining up at your local retailer on launch day in hopes of finding a PS5 console for purchase. Be safe, stay home, and place your order online"

So, you'll be able to find a console online at a lot of different places, but it'll only be online. We recommend keeping an eye on places like GAME, Currys, and the supermarkets or your local retailers.

Indeed, Amazon has already confirmed it intends to release a new batch of PS5 consoles in the UK and Europe at 12PM on November 19. You can check out its listing for the PS5 here.

Under no circumstances should you buy one on eBay for more than it sells at retail, as you're probably being ripped off and waiting a little bit is better than being scammed.
