NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 specs and features explained: What's special about the 3090?

At NVIDIA's GeForce event on 1st September, they announced three cards to introduce the 30 Series; the 3070, the 3080, and the 3090.

But the biggest shock of the event was the announcement of the 3090. Touted as the first '8K GPU', it looks like a monster, both in size and in price, but if you want the best of the best, this GPU looks to be the one to buy.

NVIDIA have had their 'Titan' cards for a few years now, showcasing their flagship features at a high price, and it doesn't look to stop here.

With that, here's the official details on the NVIDIA 3090's specs and features...

NVIDIA RTX 3090 Specs and features

This is the very high-end of the 30 Series, where NVIDIA have touted this card to be the only one on the market to run games at 60FPS at 8K resolution. The card also features:

  • 24GB of GDDR6X over 384-bit memory interface
  • 1.7Ghz 'Ampere' core
  • PCI Express Gen 4.0
  • Maximum resolution of 7680x4320
  • Ray Tracing Second Generation
  • Recommended system power of 750W
  • Three DisplayPort 1.4 ports and two HDMI 2.1 ports.

There's plenty more over at NVIDIA to look even further into the specs for each GPU and the 3090, but it looks to be an incredible card, especially if you already have a 4K monitor ready to go.
