Warner Bros has a “gagging order" on Snyder Cut to kill the SnyderVerse

The release of Zack Snyder's Justice League was a momentous occasion for fans of the DCEU. However, following the release of the elusive Snyder Cut, Warner Bros has stayed silent on its success or its failure.

While it's been revealed by external sources that the Snyder Cut isn't the best performing movie this year, it can't have done terribly. Despite this, Warner Bros is seemingly refusing to acknowledge the movie at all.

Warner Bros has a gagging order on Zack Snyder’s Justice League

According to a report by Small Screen, Warner Bros has a gagging order on Zack Snyder’s Justice League. While the studio’s parent company AT&T decided on the movie’s release, WB's higher-ups allegedly won't acknowledge the movie.

According to a source close to the outlet, WB wants to kill the SnyderVerse due to their vast expense. Every Snyder DCEU film was an expensive venture; Justice League's massive cost was exacerbated by WB's poor decisions.

“Warner Bros. Pictures is cash poor,” the source says. “They’ve been struggling for quite some time, but the pandemic’s made things pretty dire for WB. This is the main reason why the SnyderVerse has to die for WB (in their heads). They see it as being way too expensive a venture for them to carry on. Snyder’s films weren’t cheap to make, and they were only getting more and more expensive for WB. They saw a way out, and they are taking it. As far as WB’s execs are concerned, they had to end it.”

"What happened with Justice League [2017] was a huge embarrassment for WB execs. Most of those guys are gone, but some of them are still around to this day and they are feeling bitter towards Snyder and the people they see as being supporters of his. As far as they’re concerned, they want the SnyderVerse gone. Finished. And they want it done soon."

The Battle for the SnyderVerse

Even as Warner Bros attempts to kill the SnyderVerse, fans are not letting go. Fans are already campaigning to RestoreTheSnyderVerse by "using the old ways". For example, these fans are blasting the RestoreTheSnyderVerse hashtag on social media and hiring promotional vehicles.

Allegedly, The Rock is pushing to include multiple SnyderVerse elements in his upcoming Black Adam movie. However, as WB is refusing to greenlight any new SnyderVerse projects, the movie could end up cutting those ties.
