Much like Marvel's interconnected MCU, the Arrowverse has provided DC fans with a consistent superhero storyline for years. Starting almost nine years ago, the long-running TV multiverse has delivered fantastic representations of DCs finest.
However, not all is perfect at the CW. Reportedly, the state of the Arrowverse is in jeopardy as multiple actors find themselves unhappy with higher-ups calling the shots.
Actors leaving the Arrowverse
Legends of Tomorrow actor Dominic Purcell kicked off the drama surrounding the CW last week. In a since deleted Instagram post, Purcell stated that he would be walking away from the Arrowverse. The post reveals that the actor is clearly unhappy with key members of the CW.
“Deal isn’t done. I have no interest. Whatever cash they throw on the corporate level. I’m walking away from Legends of Tomorrow,” the actor wrote. The studio does not care. The actors work ethic and talent must give them the confidence to question authority. …. Much love to all. It’s not lost on me how very fortunate I am. ACTORS HIT ME UP ON DM.”

Confusingly, Purcell went back on his statement. Now the actor cousins that the post “was a joke" to clickbait press. While Purcell is leaving Legends of Tomorrow as an everyday character, he will occasionally appear.
“My last post I needed a laugh. It was a joke and the press went nuts and yes, I will always f*ck with the press it’s fun watching them be click-bated. Truth is, yes, I am leaving Legends of Tomorrow, but will come back periodically, it’s a handshake deal with my boss Phil Klemmer. I don’t have a beef with studio at Warner Bros TV. I don’t have a beef with anyone except myself haha. …Shit woke up this morning like I’d caused mass #riots …. emails, phone calls. But what a genius negotiation move. I am loved…… ps. My dear friends the press got a great one for ya next week. Ya gonna love it.”
Despite Purcell's backtracking, know leaker Daniel Richtman is claiming that things aren't going well at the CW. While the leaker doesn't name specific actors, they say that multiple Arrowverse stars are actually looking for a way out. The leaker says that actors are having "a lot of issues... [with] the producers and higher-ups.

The future of CW superhero shows
CW's plans for superhero TV content is far larger than many give them credit. While they are holding to the popularity of shows like The Flash, there's constantly new projects and changing cast members in their productions. Not long ago, the studio ended the main Arrow storyline in favour of a new character taking on the mantle.
Even if major actors leave the Arrowverse, it likely won't crash and burn. There's always contingencies and the CW superhero shows will likely evolve and continue in the case of a mass exodus. However, with Grant Gustin rumoured to appear in the upcoming The Flash movie, the series seems cemented in its continuation.
