Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad director James Gunn has revealed his thoughts on the Star Wars franchise. Always a daunting task, the director took to Twitter to talk about his favourite adventures.
With such a wide history of adventures within the Galaxy Far, Far Away, James Gunn has a vast assortment to pick from. However, the director has already explained what his favourite Star Wars story is: KOTOR!
James Gunn and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is one of the beloved video games of all time. Far eclipsing even Battlefront 2 as the best Star Wars game, the Bioware RPG has been capturing hearts for decades. One of those hearts belongs to acclaimed movie director James Gunn.
With the franchise trending on Twitter, Gunn explained to his fans just how much he adores the sub-series. Out of everything the Star Wars franchise has created, the director states that this is by far his favourite.
“I see KOTOR is trending, which it should, as it's still the greatest video game of all time,” Gunn wrote online. “It is my favorite Star Wars thing out of all Star Wars games, movies, TV shows, toys, and comics.”

Will there be a KOTOR movie?
Fans have been asking been asking for a KOTOR movie adaptation for almost two decades. While Disney will be exploring the time period in a new Disney+ series, they will not be adapting the story setup in the now non-canon games.
If a movie adaptation does bring the series back into canon, it doesn't look like Gunn will be directing. In fact, when asked about a movie adaptation of the games, Gunn says it would be an unnecessary adaptation.
“Just because it's a perfect video game doesn't mean it needs to be a movie,” Gunn replied to a fan on Twitter.
KOTOR 2 is available on iOS and Android in a newly remastered form. A PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the new port is in the works.
