Out of all of the characters in the original Star Wars trilogy, Han Solo is one of the most beloved. Portrayed brilliantly by Harrison Ford, the rebellious smuggler stole hearts when the first movie launched in 1977.

While Ford's tenure as the space-faring rogue was seemingly over with his final appearance in Rise of Skywalker, the actor is reportedly returning. However, the character's return may be remarkably brief.

Much like Luke Skywalker’s appearance at the end of The Mandalorian Season 2, Harrison Ford will reportedly return as Han Solo. Reported by renowned leaker Nick Santos of The Hashtag Show, the character is set to return.

Santos said: “I've heard that Harrison Ford is back as Han Solo. Not sure if it's been mentioned but 100% it's Book Of Boba Fett. His appearance will be very similar to Luke's in Mandalorian Season 2. I was REALLY skeptical that this was true but I have too many sources telling me its indeed true.”

Santos explained that the character’s appearance will be very similar to Skywalker’s. For example, not only was Skywalker’s scene a swift bookend to the series, but Lucasfilm also de-aged the character with deepfake technology.

Lucasfilm has already been preparing for more deepfake scenes in Star Wars TV shows. After The Mandalorian, the studio hired expert deepfake YouTuber Shamook to work on additional VFX on future projects.

Why will Solo return?

Han Solo’s cameo in The Book of Boba Fett isn't too surprising. After the first season of The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm became enamoured with cameos. For example, alongside Luke Skywalker the show saw the return of Ahsoka Tano.

For many fans, it’s almost impossible to separate Boba Fett from Han Solo. With the upcoming Boba Fett show, it could finally be the chance to see the two characters interact on screen again. With Boba Fett taking over the criminal underworld of Tatooine from Jabba the Hutt, Solo probably owes him something.
