You don't need us to tell you that 2020 has been a very, very strange year. But with life starting to take on some semblance of normality slowly, we look forward to bargain season with hope. But with coronavirus throwing everything into doubt, we have to ask: is Black Friday 2020 cancelled?
Here are our predictions for this year's holiday shopping season...
Is Black Friday 2020 cancelled?
Black Friday basically just happens. There will always be retailers selling products, they will always run deals, and they will always take advantage of spikes in traffic (both foot and web) to sell the most stuff.
For this reason, we don't think many retailers are likely to ignore Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2020. You'll still get plenty of massive price slashes on all the best gaming and tech. With next-gen gaming consoles on the horizon, too, it'll be crucial for retailers to have the opportunity to sell through the old stock.
When will Black Friday 2020 be?
Black Friday takes place every year the day after Thanksgiving in the US. That means this year, Black Friday will be on Friday 27th November 2020 and Cyber Monday three days later.
Expect deals throughout the week from Monday 23rd through to Monday 30th November 2020, as is customary during this peak period. There will be some retailers who kick off with "pre-Black Friday" deals earlier.
