How to fix Cold War error code Bravo 381 Invisible Gator: Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Sadly, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and error codes are no strangers to one another. One example of this is the error code Bravo 381 Invisible Gator error, which has been impacting players recently.

With the new Season 4 update set to roll out, seeing the Bravo 381 Invisible Gator error could be a frustrating encounter. Instead of playing the new zombies map, or returning to 'Hijacked', you'll instead be stuck at an error screen.

So what exactly it is, what causes it, and how can it be fixed? We'll share everything we know with you, in this article.

What is Error Code Bravo 381 Invisible Gator in Black Ops Cold War?

The Invisible Gator is an elusive predator. Activision's own support page lists three known Bravo 381 error codes, all of which are Wolf-related, so no help there.

Activision has been known to be less than forthcoming when it comes to explaining these errors. there has been speculation that it has affected players who used the Dark Aether Glitch and have been subsequently banned, but this remains unconfirmed.

At the moment, the best guess appears to be that the error is related to a network connection problem. So if that is the case, what options do we have for fixing it?

If you are experiencing issues with this particular error code, there are a few things that are definitely worth trying. As we stated earlier, the best guess right now is that this is primarily a network connectivity issue. So let's start there.

Check Internet Connection

If it's a possible issue with your internet connection, the first thing to do is to try to refresh the network connection. The classic, turn your device off and back on again, may help with this. Alongside a power cycle, check your internet connection using another device, to see if the issue is with the network or not. You can also try to exit the game and rejoin it, to see whether this resolves matters for you.

Other connection related tips include:

  • Make sure you don't have lots of other bandwidth heavy activities going on at the same time.
  • Ensure there is nothing blocking the signal between your router and your PC/console.
  • Try using a wired connection.
  • Also check your connection speed, and contact your ISP if you aren't getting the speeds you normally would.

Check Activision Servers

If your internet connection looks to be working fine, then check whether there are any problems with the servers. The other Bravo 381 - Silver Wolf, Orange Wolf, and Ghost Wolf - all indicate an interruption while connecting to the gaming network services.

Bravo 381 Tan Wolf is caused by an interruption with the COD servers. So there is at least the possibility that Invisible Gator is caused by a similar issue. Activision has a helpful tool here that will report any server issues. If they are experiencing problems, then you may just have to play the waiting game. Which is a much less exciting game than Call of Duty, admittedly.

Wait for an update from Activision

The last option, which hopefully won't be necessary, is to just sit tight and wait until Activision identify the root cause of the problem, and release a patch to fix it.

This will normally arrive in the form of another software update, which will normally be automatically downloaded by your PC or console. So keep your eyes peeled for any updates, which may well resolve the issue, even if we never find out what the problem actually was.
