The latest wave of Lenovo laptops have been announced and, judging by their specs, they pack a serious punch.

The Chinese technology giant has revealed that its 2020 lineup of gaming laptops: the Lenovo Legion 7i, the Lenovo Legion 5Pi, the Lenovo Legion 5i, the Lenovo Legion 5 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i.

Lenovo Legion 7i specs, features, price and release date

According to Lenovo, “there’s no better test of gaming engineering than on the new, premium Lenovo Legion 7i.”

The technology company’s flagship laptop comes equipped with a 15” 1920x1080p display, “to showcase breathtaking visuals”. The laptop can be configured with a 10th generation Intel Core i9 H-Series processor, 1TB of PCIe SSD storage and up to 32GB of DDR4 memory.

For gaming, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU should pack ample performance to run games at ultra settings, and the 240Hz optional display will, “keep up with all the action of graphically intensive AAA titles.”

Not only does the laptop feature an 80WHr battery to last for up to 8 hours, but it can also charge up to 50% in 30 minutes using Lenovo’s Rapid Charge Pro capabilities.

Lenovo’s new TrueStrike keyboard, “has one hundred percent anti-ghosting, sub-millisecond response times, and soft-landing switches resulting in hair-trigger accuracy and the feel of superior key travel”. The flagship laptop comes with Corsair’s iCUE system lighting, giving the keyboard keys 16 million colour combinations to choose from. 

According to Lenovo, the base Legion 7i laptop will start at $1,599.99 and is expected to be available in 2020. The Lenovo website says it's 'coming soon.'

Lenovo Legion 5Pi specs, features, price and release date

In their announcement, Lenovo declared that the, “Legion 5Pi is built with gaming dominance in mind.” Just like the aforementioned Legion 7i, the 5Pi comes with a 15” 1920x1080p display that can be configured to refresh at 240Hz.

The top-tier Legion 5Pi comes with a 10th generation Intel Core i7 H-Series processor and an optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.

The 5Pi boasts a similar storage capacity and memory options to the Legion 7i and comes equipped with the same 80WHr battery. It's described as 'coming soon' on the Lenovo website.

Although Lenovo specified that the Legion 5Pi wouldn’t be available in North America, they didn’t suggest when or where the laptop will be available. Instead they commented that, “Pricing and availability will vary per geography.”

Lenovo Legion 5i specs, features, price and release date

The Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop can be configured with either a 15” or a 17” display, the latest 10th generation Intel Core H-Series processors and a range of different NVIDIA GeForce GPUs.

Whilst the 15” model can be manufactured with an optional 240Hz display, the 17” model is limited to 144Hz.

In-terms of other specs, the Lenovo Legion 5i comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory and 1TB of PCIe SSD storage irrespective of the laptop's size.

According to Lenovo, “the Intel-based 15-inch Lenovo Legion 5i will start at $829.99 and the 17-inch Lenovo Legion 5i laptop will start at $1,129.99.”

Lenovo Legion 5 specs, features, price and release date

The Lenovo Legion 5 is manufactured with a 15” display that refreshes at 144Hz - there is no optional 240Hz display with this model.

Unlike the Legion 5i, this model of laptop comes equipped with AMD processors - the best of which being the AMD Ryzen 7 4800 H-Series processor. This laptop can be fitted with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, one model down from the Legion 5Pi’s 2060 SUPER.

Just like many other Lenovo gaming laptops, the Legion 5 will feature a battery capable of 8 hours of life.

In their announcement, Lenovo commented, “The AMD-based 15-inch Lenovo Legion 5 will start at $759.99.” You can order one now from the Lenovo website.

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i specs, features, price and release date

According to Lenovo, “Players who want to level up without breaking the bank can rely on Lenovo for a selection of reliable gaming devices to give them a competitive edge, such as the new IdeaPad Gaming 3i laptop”.

Upon release, the 15” IdeaPad Gaming 3i laptop will be available with an optional 120Hz display and a 10th generation Intel Core i7 H-Series processor. Interestingly, “the IdeaPad Gaming 3 will offer AMD Ryzen mobile processors as an option later this year.”

Just like all of the other Lenovo gaming laptops, the IdeaPad Gaming 3i utilises an NVIDIA GPU. With this model, the 3i can be configured to make the most of GPUs up to the GeForce GTX 1650ti, “for a truly elevated experience.”

In-terms of price, “The 15-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i laptop will start at $729.99 and is expected to be available starting in May 2020.”
