Xiaomi has revealed their new line of Mi 11 devices. Announced as part of the new Xiaomi reveal event, the new line of Android smartphones appears to have something for everyone. From the budget-focused Mi 11 Lite to the no-holds-barred Ultra device, there's a whole range of phones to go through.
Xiaomi Mi 11i
The base model of the Mi 11 flagship is the same as the Redmi K40 Pro+, but with Xiaomi branding. Using the Snapdragon 888, the phone uses a 6.67 AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh and 360Hz sampling. The device rocks a 4520 mAh battery with 33W fast charging capable of reaching 100% in 52 minutes.
For cameras, the device uses a 108MP sensor but without any form of dedicated zoom. There is an 8MP ultrawide and a 5MP telephoto macro lense to add to the setup, but the lack of zoom is a huge omission.
However, the new device is a reasonable price despite Xiaomi's fears that phone prices would be increasing. The Mi 11i base device has 8 RAM and 128GB storage for €649; a 8/256GB variant costs €699.
Mi 11 Lite
The budget-focused midrange device of the group, the Xiaomi Mii 11 Lite comes in 4G and 5G variants. With the latter designed to be the most affordable 5G device in the global market, the company is still planning to deliver a strong device.
Starting at just €299, the Lite comes in variants of 6/64GB, 6/128GB, and 8/128GB. The 5G device is powered by a Snapdragon 780G chipset whereas its 4G counterpart uses a Snapdragon 732G chip.
Both versions are paired with a 6.55” AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling and 10-bit color depth. Instead of using an under-display fingerprint reader, Xiaomi has placed the sensor on the side mounted power button.
For cameras, Xiaomi has included a 64MP main sensor paired with an 8MP Ultrawide. There's also the bog-standard 5MP macro lens. On the front, users will be able to use a 16MP selfie camera.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra specs
The most expensive device on the list, the Mi 11 Ultra is a very high-end device. Powered by a Snapdragon 888 SoC with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, the device aims to be a powerhouse release for mobile powerusers.
Just like with the OnePlus 9, Xiaomi is pushing their new camera tech as a major selling point. Using the huge Samsung GN2 sensor, the phone company has included an incredibly powerful camera – the biggest sensor ever in a mass-market smartphone.
Capable of 8K video, optical image stabilisation, 1920fps slow motion and a new software algorithm to build low light images, the main sensor is clearly top of the line. There's also a beefy ultrawide camera – 48MP – with 8K video support and might mode functionality. It can also shoot macro shots.
For battery, Xiaomi has included a 5,000 mAh cell with 67W wireless and wired charging speeds. Both methods can bring the phone to 100% in just 36 minutes.
Display wise, the Mi 11 Ultra uses a 6.81” AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate backed by 480Hz touch sampling. It's got HDR10+ certification with support for Dolby Vision; the screen can go as bright as 1,700 nits.
Even audio has been boosted for this flagship device. Xiaomi has partnered with audio engineers at Harman Kardon to create high-end sound. As such, the device is rated with High-Res audio certification. Unfortunately, they're no headphone jack.
The main feature of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is its rear AMOLED display. While only 126x294 resolution, the display can be used as an always on display to show battery life, call info and even be used as a camera viewfinder.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra starts with 8GB of RAM and 256 GB storage for $915/€775; the 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB storage, this one costs £1200. The phone becomes available on April 2nd.
