Xbox Series X release date confirmed by Microsoft

Following the official reveal of the Xbox Series S, which was somewhat forced by leaks, Microsoft dropped a huge amount of next-gen information for fans, including the price, pre-order date and, finally, the release date.

The Xbox Series X is set to launch in just two months on November 10, alongside the Xbox Series S, which will release on the same day. Pre-orders for the console will open on September 22. This date coincides with the release of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, of which Ubisoft moved its release forward a week to match the Xbox.

Xbox Series X pre-order release date

Pre-orders for both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles first went live on September 22, a week after the PS5 pre-orders.

However, it might be pretty difficult to pre-order an Xbox Series X/S console now as we are mere days away from the console's launch on November 10. We'd recommend checking out the Xbox Series X pre-order links from here, or trying the Amazon Xbox page from this link.

In any case, it might be that you won't be able to secure a next-gen Xbox until after its launch now, unless you have already pre-ordered the console.

Will the Xbox Series X launch before the PS5?

While Microsoft and Sony have been in somewhat of a stalemate over key next-gen details, Microsoft blinked first in revealing the release date of the Xbox Series X, with Sony remaining silent on the PS5's launch date, alongside its price for a while after Microsoft.

Following the PS5 event last week, we know the PS5 will release on November 12 in the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea. Other countries will receive the PS5 on November 19.

Will the release dates impact the sales of either console? Probably not. Given potential consumers are more excited by low prices, impressive specs, or exclusive games, having to wait a few days for your console of choice to launch won't seem that hard.
