Who's the sixth Sinister Six member in Spider-Man No Way Home?

The first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home is now online... with completed visual effects. After much anticipation, the live-action Spider-Verse flick looks to finally put the Sinister Six on screen for the first time.

However, seeing as this first No Way Home trailer is just a teaser for what's to come, the first look is remarkably light on villains. We get a Green Goblin Pumpkin Bomb followed by a delightful Dafoe laugh. There's Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and his big metal arms. Furthermore, there's a lot of sand and electric, teasing Sandman and Electro.

Of course, you can't have a Sinister Four. There's not even a hint of alliteration there! So, who are the other members of the Spider-Man: No Way Home Sinister Six?

The Lizard... or Venom

While four members of Spider-Man's iconic villain group are accounted four, the fifth member has been left ambiguous. All signs point to the return of The Amazing Spider-Man’s incarnation of The Lizard. However, it could be the perfect chance for Sony to get its long-craved Spider-Man and Venom crossover.

Back in May, Sony boss Sanford Panitch revealed that there are plans to crossover the two Marvel characters. Sony's plans to bring the two characters together will apparently become obvious in No Way Home. Panitch said:

“There actually is a plan. I think now maybe it's getting a little more clear for people where we're headed and I think when No Way Home comes out, even more will be revealed.”

That big white eye looks like Venom to me!

While it would make sense for The Lizard to appear as one of Andrew Garfield’s Spidey’s big bads, Sony has been pushing Venom as a key player since Spider-Man 3. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that this could bring the Symbiote into the MCU.

Mysterio returns to form the Sinister Six?

Spider-Man No Way Home’s plot revolves around Mysterio’s actions at the end of Far From Home. In the movie, Mysterio outs Peter Parker as the webhead in a viral video before his death. As everyone sees Mysterio as a hero, nobody believes that Spider-Man is the good guy.

Mysterio is a member of the traditional Sinister Six. As the Master of Illusions, Quentin Beck’s hologram technology makes him a unique opponent for the webhead. Despite his death, seeing him return as a metaphorical ghost to haunt Peter would be interesting. However, is it too soon to bring him back?

Vulture or Scorpion

Spider-Man: Homecoming saw Peter Parker come face-to-face with The Vulture. At the time, The Vulture was a worthy adversary for Peter to grow past and become a true hero. In the end, Vulture was arrested, but he was also seen in jail defending Parker from an inmate who appeared to be Scorpion.

Having Scorpion appear in No Way Home would certainly be an awesome way to finish Homecoming’s cliffhanger. But could introducing an all-new villain on top of so many returning characters be too much for one film?

Whatever the case, we’ll likely find out in the near future. No Way Home launches on December 17th, giving Marvel very little time to follow up on trailers. By the time the film releases, all will be clear.
