Harry Potter and DC studio Warner Bros. will be pushing through with a theatrical release for The Flash next June. Despite heavy backlash against actor Ezra Miller, the studio is committed to releasing the film.
This decision comes after Warner Bros. considered other alternatives for releasing the film, including an exclusive HBO Max release. Regarding the controversial actor, Miller will reportedly focus on “healing” before addressing some of the crimes they have committed.
The Flash is still coming to theaters
Variety reports that Warner Bros. is committed to releasing The Flash in theaters. According to the report, the studio deemed that the film was simply too expensive to leave on the cutting room floor.
While an HBO Max release was likely discussed, that idea was scrapped. This is because it was unlikely The Flash would make a profit through those means.
Massive payments would also have to be made if they tried to replace Miller with a different actor, money that the studio can’t afford since the actor appears in almost every scene. Despite their inclusion, Warner Bros. has reportedly cut ties with Miller and we won’t be seeing them in the DCEU anymore. It’s not yet known if the company will eventually replace him with a different actor.
Ezra Miller is “healing”
Representatives close to Miller claim that the actor wants to address the allegations made against them on a future date. For now, the actor has chosen to privately focus on their health and will supposedly be healing over the coming months. Details on how the actor will be healing were not given.
Naturally, no comments were made about The Flash actor’s erratic behavior and borderline criminal activities. Said behavior includes choking a woman, starting fights with people in Miami, and grooming underage teenagers, among other things. The actor even made fun of these allegations on Instagram, insulting law enforcement after them.

The crimes of Ezra Miller
Alongside news of The Flash, Variety also released lengthy retellings of the crimes Ezra Miller committed, with quotes from the witnesses. This includes the woman choked by Miller on an infamous YouTube video and a former friend of the actor’s who goes by Nadia, sharing her own unfortunate tale.
Nadia recounts how Miller was invited to her place and the two initially got along. This was before she told the actor that they couldn’t smoke in her house. This enraged Miller, who allegedly proceeded to call Nadia a “Nazi” and started throwing things around. After 30 minutes, Nadia was able to convince Miller to leave
“That just set them off,” Nadia said. “I asked them to leave about 20 times, maybe more. They started insulting me. I’m a ‘transphobic piece of shit.’ I’m a ‘Nazi.’ It became so, so stressful for me. They were going around my house, looking at everything, touching everything, spreading tobacco leaves on the floor. It felt disgusting and very intrusive.”
It’s a harrowing retelling of what happened and will make it harder to justify Warner Bros. releasing The Flash next June. The company hopes that Miller will keep out of trouble by the film's release.
