PC and PS5 owners are waiting for the inevitable The Last of Us Part 2 remaster, especially following the series’ recent Part 1 remake. Although nothing official has been confirmed, there are rumours saying that a basic port is coming to both systems and it will cost $70.
Revealed in a leak from the sometimes credible, oftentimes total fabrication 4chan forum, Naughty Dog is allegedly working on a remaster of Part 2.
Fans hoping for a bit more than what the remaster of Part 1 gave players will be out of luck. Obviously, visual improvements are coming to the game, which means it will probably look a bit better. We can also expect a nice increase in the fps, probably reaching 60fps in Performance Mode and sticking with 30fps in Resolution Mode.
Beyond that, this rumoured remaster of The Last of Us Part 2 won’t be too impressive and might not be worth $70. Then again, many argued that the PS5 and PC remaster of Part 1 wasn’t worth the price but it still sold really well.
Unlike the first game, the rumour does claim that there will be a $10 upgrade for owners of the original title. Obviously, we’ll believe it when we see it, but Insomniac Games did give Marvel’s Spider-Man players that privilege when Remastered was sold separately.
While this is a rumour, most fans will agree that a remastered port of Part 2 is a case of ‘when’ rather than ‘if.’ Naughty Dog previously hinted that they were working on a PC port of the sequel, though a PS5 version will likely pop up first.
