With HBO’s The Last of Us quickly approaching, one fan has capitalised on the buzz by making a Bella Ramsey mod for Ellie. Oddly enough, the mod is for The Last of Us Part 2, not the first game that HBO is currently adapting.
When video game adaptations release, fans often mod live-action elements into the source material. Let’s not forget all those Witcher 3 mods putting Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt! Don’t be surprised if we get a similar mod in the future that adds a Pedro Pascal mod for Joel.
It’s always fun seeing fans work during moments like this, even though we would have rather seen a mod for the first Last of Us game. Now that the show is getting positive reviews from critics, we hope it lives up to the hype and brings interest to the games.
A YouTube video from Speclizer showed off the impressive mod work from Vontadeh and smasher248. From what we can see in the video, it’s really impressive to see the face of Bella Ramsey emote when Ellie does in the game. Granted, there are some odd hiccups here and there, but it’s an impressive mod.
Throughout the video, we see the two modders talk about how difficult it was to bring the actor’s face to the game, let alone match Ellie’s expressions. As cutscenes in The Last of Us Part 2 are motion-captured, making Ramsey’s face actually match the original motions is harder than expected.

Unfortunately, the mod isn’t readily available for gamers since none of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us games are on PC, at least right now. It’s a shame that other players won’t get to use this mod until the first game comes to PC. We are getting The Last of Us Part 1 on PC this March, though both games are readily available on the PS4 and PS5.
