The Flash was supposed to a momentous occasion for DC fans, but it’s now an odd anomaly. With main actor Ezra Miller arrested multiple times for violent behavior in Hawaii and allegedly kidnapping a groomed teenager, many expected the movie to be canned.
However, Warner Bros. is still pushing through with The Flash, but reports claim that this will be Miller’s final outing. Not just as the superhero, but for every one of the studio’s future projects.
Warner Bros. is done with Ezra Miller
Deadline reports that Warner Bros. will be done with Ezra Miller’s Flash after the movie comes out next June. With so much money already being poured into the movie — which was heavily reworked and shot — the studio is trying to do all they can to not cancel it.
The internal hope is that Miller can stay out of trouble by the time The Flash is in cinemas, which is saying a lot given how much trouble they’ve been in recently. It’s also been said that the studio has offered Miller help but given the nature of the allegations, Warner Bros. will still drop them after the movie comes out.
With allegations of assault and grooming, no one can blame Warner Bros. for wanting to distance themselves from the problematic actor. Even if the allegations don’t get any worse, Miller has proven that they’re trouble and unless they get help, most studios would be better off without them.

Ezra Miller’s crimes affect everyone
Miller’s problems with the law couldn’t have come at a worse time since Warner Bros. is hoping that The Flash is the start of something new for the DCEU. Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav is hoping to grow the DCEU into MCU-level heights with The Flash. Reports claim that the studio has already spent $200 million on The Flash, which is probably why Warner Bros. won’t be canceling the superhero movie.
“There is no winning in this for Warner Bros,” one source claims. “This is an inherited problem for Zaslav. The hope is that the scandal will remain at a low level before the movie is released, and hope for the best to turn out.”
Currently, there aren’t a lot of great solutions for Warner Bros. The studio can release The Flash without much promotion or maybe make it an HBO Max release, both of which will mean lesser profits overall. Perhaps the option of waiting it out will work, given how crazy Hollywood has been for the past couple of years, but we doubt anyone will quickly forgive Miller’s actions.
