Every week right now, it seems like AYANEO is hiding a device up its sleeve, and this week is no different - in fact, the AYANEO Pocket S is arguably one of the most interesting devices the company has revealed recently, for more than a few reasons.

Whether it's making retro Mini PCs like the AM01 or attempting to break through the best gaming handheld list, AYANEO is doing it all. However, if you find yourself typically looking to upgrade to the best gaming smartphones, you may want to hold off on upgrading to the ASUS ROG Phone 8, and instead, take a peek at the Pocket S.

Announced a few months back, AYANEO has finally revealed more details on it's upcoming handheld, including the Pocket S release date window of April 2024. The device, which is the first handheld being powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset, is using Android as the operating system.

Sporting a 6" 1440p screen, with a thin design, the Pocket S has impressed us so far. The build of the product, at least at first glace, resembles many handheld consoles in a similar vein, but AYANEO promises that the Pocket S surpasses traditional smartphones in terms of cooling, with a large thermal plate and active cooling.

If you find yourself typically attaching the best phone controller to your mobile device, using it for hours on end, the Pocket S may fit your appeal. Qualcomm also reports that the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 supports almost twice the GPU performance of its predecessor, as well as a 30% increase in CPU performance.

AYANEO recently revealed the budget-friendly AYANEO Next Lite too, which was originally using a SteamOS clone for its operating system, but is now switching to Windows 11 ahead of launch. However, if you prefer playing mobile games and want a fairly powerful device for long gaming sessions, the Pocket S may be a better option.

The AYANEO Pocket S is set to launch in April 2024, and will be available to pre-order via the IndieGoGo campaign. Currently, there's no price for the device right now, but expect at least two options to purchase, including a "special edition" that features the 1440p screen, and a standard edition with 1080p.
