Just when you thought all of 2023's flagship models were out and the dust had settled, TCL kicks down your front door with the announcement of the X955 - and it's got some of the craziest specs we've ever seen.
Announced mere hours ago via press release, the TCL X955 mini LED TV touts over 5000 local dimming zones and boasts 5000 nits of brightness.
The X955 uses Samsung's QLED technology, covers an impressive 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and is equipped with the AiPQ Processor 3.0.
For audio, the display has a 160W 4.2.2 sound system created by Onkyo - an audiophile-favourite brand. Of course, this will support Dolby Atmos too. The first thing AV enthusiasts often do is replace the TVs sound system with something more robust, but this truly sounds like it could end this trend.
The TCL X955 Series will be available in up to 85" and 98" sizes and only in select global markets, but we're still waiting on more information.
Alongside this announcement comes the C955, which still boosts over 2000 zones and 2000 nits of brightness and comes in 65", 75", 85" and 98" models for those who don't have enough space for the X955.
And for those with a smaller budget, the entry level C755 Series (C805 in Europe) are also new for 2023. At 1300 nits, the set also includes 144hz VRR for gaming and 500 dimming zones, so it's still no slouch.
