Starfield is far from an ugly game but is does fall behind in some areas. From the trees of New Atlantis to the weirdly low-res screens of the Research panels, some areas of Starfield do fall behind the norm. That might change soon as a star modder who made Cyberpunk 2077 look better is planning to do the same with Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG.

Modder Halk Hogan has announced plans to rework some of the game’s low-resolution textures and make them more high-definition. Hogan promises that the mod will be similar to previous ones he made, enhancing the visuals without sacrificing performance.

“Due to the often visible low-resolution textures, I decided to create a new HD Reworked Project for Starfield, to improve the visual experience of the game,” Halk Hogan says. “Of course, as usual, the project focuses on achieving the highest quality of textures (and perhaps models in the future), while maintaining good performance and reasonable use of video memory. The modification is currently in an early stage of work, although the first version will be released soon.”

The fact that Hogan is already planning to release a texture pack soon is great news for fans. Obviously, it won’t be a perfect mod since this is the first one and Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG is just so big. Needless to say, the next few years should be interesting.

Few can clean up textures the way Hogan has, as he has made Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 look even better than they already do. Considering how Starfield is one of the best-looking games Bethesda has developed, Hogan could make it look like a next-gen wonder.

Unsurprisingly, Starfield has quickly become a home for modders everywhere, as fans just like to mess with its world. Since this is a game about space exploration, fans quickly made mods based on Star Wars and more are likely to come. Modders have also made genuine gameplay improvements to the title, like fixing the UI, among other improvements.
