Starfield is promising players a near limitless amount of freedom so it’s not surprising to know that developer Bethesda Game Studios encourage players to commit crimes. Hilariously, it’s not crimes that Bethesda is against but the possibility of getting caught.
Lead quest designer Will Shen and lead designer Emil Pagliarulo answered 16 specific questions on their Discord (recapped by GamesRadar). One of those questions was about smuggling goods to other areas, as security is expected to play a major factor.
After explaining that players can get special ship modules that will allow them to cross over, they joked about not getting caught. Hilariously, the duo mentioned “harvested organs,” indicating that players can do some really shady crimes in the open-world RPG if they wanted.
Beyond committing crimes, Starfield will also let players join every faction in the game, though they can’t be double agents. The devs have also mentioned that your parents will be based on your character’s appearance, similar to other Bethesda titles. Overall, there are clearly a lot of activities available to the player.
While fans should want to avoid getting caught, many fans mentioned wanting to have their ships boarded by enemies. Naturally, depending on the player’s lifestyle, these enemies can include the law, who might be able to board ships. Sadly, since this game won’t reward players for their pacifism, they will have to gun down these policemen, corrupt or otherwise.
Speaking of crimes, a troll recently decided to leak the story of Starfield, getting many fans worried. It’s easy enough to avoid spoilers as long as online users don’t actively look for them online. This won’t be the first AAA game to have its plot leaked and, unfortunately, it probably won’t be the last.
