Spider-Man fans are review bombing Sony trailers in wait of more Spider-Man

The fervour of Spider-Man fans is reaching critical mass. With less than two months until the release of the upcoming No Way Home movie, the fanbase is getting antsy. They need to see more moving pictures of Spider-Man!

After all, the movie’s first trailer left a lot of unanswered questions. Are Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in the movie? Who is in the Sinister Six? Is Doctor Strange evil? I dunno! And neither do fans, and that’s making them angry.

Spider-Man fans are review bombing Sony trailers

Reported by The Direct, multiple trailers of upcoming Sony movies are baring the brunt of the community’s anger. Trailers for movies such as Don’t Breathe 2 are now ravaged with dislikes in an attempt to force a trailer out of Sony.

For example, the aforementioned trailer once had a positive like-to-dislike ratio, but now there are ten times as many dislikes as likes. Other videos are the same. A new video for Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City, posted just ten minutes ago, already has a 60% dislike ratio.

The review bombing is only affecting non-comic book movies. Trailers for Venom: Let There Be Carnage is unaffected by the hate brigade, likely because of its Spidey connections.

Dislikes are not the only things fans are leaving on videos. Almost every comment on Sony’s channel is about No Way Home. One comment reads: “we want a trailer for spider-man and not this s**t there is a month and a half left before the movie and we still haven't seen trailer 2”. Another says: “On the one hand: This looks like a good movie and doesn't deserve the dislikes. On the other: You've only given us one NWH trailer so far...”.

When will Sony release the second No Way Home trailer?

Sony and Marvel are already gearing up to release the next look at Spider-Man: No Way Home. Currently, Marvel is focused on promoting Eternals, the next MCU movie in Phase 4. The new Spidey film comes after that.

In fact, a new Spider-Man trailer is so close that Marvel is already starting to promote it. Recently, Marvel gave Empire Magazine a massive feature on the new movie complete with new stills. One of those stills looked just like a trailer grab.

So, Spidey fans, calm down, and think rationally. After Eternals has its limelight, then so will the webhead. That’s the press cycle.
