Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a great Collector’s Edition but scalpers are already hiking the price due to its limited availability. It’s hard enough trying to get one of these packages normally but scalpers just make things worse with their tactics.
According to The Loadout, the already expensive $229 Collector’s Edition is getting its price hiked to a ridiculous degree. Scalpers on eBay are already selling this version for $450 and even up to $650, which is just ridiculous.
This version includes the base game, these underwhelming DLC costumes, a neat statue of Venom fighting the Spider-Men, and more. Fans did expect all of that to be pricey but having to pay even more from an untrusted second-hard source is crazy.
Keep in mind that fans can only get this version from the PlayStation Direct, which means its availability is already limited. With pre-orders for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Collector’s Edition not yet available in all regions, trying to get this version will be even harder.
Unfortunately, this news isn’t new at all to gamers, as scalpers have been around these parts for the longest time. It wasn’t that long ago when scalpers were hiking the prices of PS5 consoles to an absurd degree. Older fans will also remember how the Nintendo Wii was also really hard to get at one point, also becoming a victim of this crew.
While it’s disappointing to see scalpers strike, fans that just want to play this Marvel sequel will be able to do so without any issues. Regular copies of the game will be readily available in stores once it comes out this October. Digital copies will be even cheaper in the online PlayStation Store, especially since sales happen quite a bit.
