A lot of people grew up playing video games and now want to work in the industry.
Maybe you've already got a job, but a change of plans sounds great to you. Maybe you're fresh out of school, college, or university, and you're ready to jump into the world of work (don't, it's a trap).
Either way, we've got some good news for people who might want to work at Sony, specifically within PlayStation.
You'll need some specific skills, but they've got a few roles available, and that means you could be part of the team working on PS5 games.
Sony is hiring for new jobs
There are five jobs going. Two of these require some industry experience, specifically within QA. You could potentially be one of the next PlayStation QA functional test leads.
If that doesn't sound like you, then you'll be happy to know that the other three jobs are a little more entry-level, but also require very specific skills.
They have three roles open for localisation testers. One fo Brazilian, one for Russian, and one for Arabic.
These jobs require a good grasp of both the English language and whichever one you decide to go for, but could well be your first step into a new industry.
OPINION:Ā The PS5 desperately needs an Xbox Games Pass equivalent
What do these jobs entail?
Well the QA jobs involve testing games. That does mean playing them, but not in a way you'd normally play them.
Instead, you'll be walking at walls at funny angles, testing out the boundaries in each level, and reporting on any bugs or issues you find along the way. It's a rewarding job, but it's quite a tough one too.
The localisation jobs will have you checking dialogue in a game, and occasionally doing translation as well. You'll even get to look at the text on game boxes and marketing too.
These are just the jobs in Liverpool, there are actually a lot more jobs available across the company if you happen to be based elsewhere.
