QD-OLED landed last year to critical acclaim for its enhanced colour volume over tradition WRGB OLED panels, and the Sony A95K was considered the best of its kind when it comes to general out of the box picture quality - and now we finally have details on its successors release date and pricing.
The Sony A95L, the 2023 iteration of Sony's QD-OLED offering, will be available to pre-order from August 21, 2023 in the US and Canada.
The A95L prices will start at $2799.99 for the 55" model, and increase to $3499.99 and $4999.99 for the 65" and 77" inch models. Prices for Europe and the rest of the world have not been announced
This year will be the first time QD-OLEDs are available in 77" screen size, and it's what a lot of buyers have been waiting for: larger QD-OLEDs for those home cinemas.
But with the Sony costing a lot more than similar offerings from the likes of Samsung's S95C and S90C, we might see buyers shy away from buying the A95L.
This is especially true when you factor in that the Sony A95L only has 2 HDMI 2.1s still, making it lag behind the TVs available from Samsung and LG when it comes to gaming and future proofing.
Will you be buying a Sony QD-OLED this year? Or, will you be going for a TV that gives you more bang for your buck?
