Many PlayStation 5 owners have been enjoying much of what the console has had to offer, from 'Spider-Man' to the 'PS Plus Collection'.

However, having a PS5 is just one part of making sure that the games look good; it's the audio around the room, but more importantly, the television you have.

While many are reaping the benefits of HDR and higher refresh rates, some Samsung owners are experiencing issues with some televisions that are specific to the console.

With that, let's see what the issue is, and when the fix is coming.

What's the Issue?

It looks like this occurs with any Samsung TV that has HDR and 120Hz as features, where games running on the PS5 don't display correctly.

It seemingly causes the game to run at 4K resolution, but nothing more; no HDR, no 120Hz.

While it may not bother most, these features are some main reasons of why it's a 'next-gen' console, to take advantage of how a game can look.

However, it looks like Samsung and Sony are already on the case.

When is the Fix coming?

A community moderator on the Samsung forums has confirmed the issue.

They state that "...Sony is expected to release an update in March to make 4K 120 Hz HDR mode work on TVs. Please keep the PlayStation up to date with the latest software. The TV does not need a software update (but we recommend keeping the software up-to-date for reasons of stability and security)."

So there you have it; March and the issues you may have been experiencing will be fixed.

In the meantime though, you can still play Spider-Man and Destruction All-Stars in 4K, you just need to wait a bit longer to play them in HDR with 120Hz.
