Worldwide game-making phenomenon Roblox is one of the leading players of the “Metaverse trend”. With this in mind, it’s perhaps unsurprising to hear that a Roblox VR port for Meta’s Quest headset may be in the works.
To this day, Roblox is still growing in popularity, so some kind of VR title makes plenty of sense. With most people associating the metaverse with VR headsets, it’s more surprising that a version of Roblox hasn’t already appeared on Quest, although rumours regarding these a port have been circulating for a while.
Are we actually going to get Roblox on a VR system like Meta’s Quest? Is it going to come out for similar headsets in the near future? Only time will tell but things seem to be moving in that direction.
News on the popular metaverse game coming to Quest was broken by The Verge’s Command Line newsletter. Right now, no release date has been revealed, though the report claims we might get it in late 2023.
Interestingly enough, Meta has declined to comment on the game coming to Quest, not giving TechCrunch any solid answers regarding the matter. While that’s not an immediate yes or no, it wouldn’t surprise us if Meta made a big deal about it on their own terms, likely through one of their shows.
Should the rumours prove to be true, we won’t only get Roblox later this year but also on Meta’s Quest 3. Meta is planning to reveal their latest VR hardware soon and having a killer app like Roblox would help sell some units. Granted, these machines are already part of a wealthier niche but they still want good games to play with.

For now, players can access Roblox through Xbox Series, mobile devices, and PC. Expect more news about this in the near future, should it prove to be true.
