We're in the remake and remaster era. From The Last of Us to Ratchet and Clank, there are more reboots than we can shake a wired controller at. Resident Evil, Capcom's classic survival horror series, hasn't been spared the treatment with remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 being well received by fans in recent years.
Resident Evil 4 is the latest game to get the remake treatment, and with it being the favourite game of many Resident Evil lovers, it really needs to hit the mark - something the Resident Evil 3 remake didn't do. But, those who are were disappointed with Resident Evil 3 will be glad to know one of its weapons is making its way to Resident Evil 4 remake.
The Steam store page for the game lists all of the DLC that comes with the more expensive Deluxe Edition of the game, and one if the weapons is a shotgun that comes from Resident Evil 3 and was left out of the remake entirely.
The 'Skull Shaker' shotgun is an almost one-for-one clone of the 'Western Custom M37' from the original Resident Evil 3 Nemesis PS1 release of the game. Interestingly, the Skull Shaker wasn't one of the original three shotguns in Resident Evil 4 either.
Resident Evil purists will likely balk at the idea of a shotgun that wasn't in Resident Evil 4 making an appearance in the game, but at least Resident Evil 3 is finally getting the recognition it deserved - even if that comes years too late.
We're mere months away from the Resident Evil 4 remake, so we're finally close to both playing one of the best Resident Evil games out there and getting our hands on one of the coolest lever-action shotguns in the horror series. Is the weapon enough to make you cough up the extra for the Deluxe Edition?
