Considering Fortnite’s seemingly-endless popularity since its launch in 2017, it’s surprising that Razer hasn’t partnered with developer Epic Games before now. The launch of the Razer x Fortnite Suite marks a new range of loot pinata-branded gear that offers a range of Razer’s best esports options, all allowing you to showcase your love for Fortnite.

The four existing Razer products getting the Razer treatment are the DeathAdder V3 Pro, the BlackWidow V4 X, Razer Kraken V3 X, and the Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma. All of these are already popular for various reasons, but we’ll be going over why the latest Fortnite editions of them are equally interesting options.

Starting with the DeathAdder V3 Pro, Razer’s ergonomic esports mice is easily one of the best gaming options on the market already. A lack of major RGB allows the mouse to sit at a light 67g, with the form easily fitting a claw or palm grip without any discomfort. Although the mouse may look like it has grip tape, with the different textured clickers giving a resemblance of tape, it doesn’t come with it. However, I found it easy to use without it, and I honestly find it preferable that way.

On the Razer Goliathus mouse pad (more on that soon), the DeathAdder V3 Pro glides with relative ease. But, what makes it truly stand out is the Fortnite design. Unlike the bright color palette of Epic Games’ beloved battle royale, the DeathAdder Fortnite mouse offers a rusted, almost Fallout-style theme to it. While all of the products in the line up follow a similar design, it’s arguably best placed here, with the left and right-click buttons looking battered and worn down before you get into any heavy gaming.

While I much prefer the Razer Viper V3 Pro as my primary mouse of choice, I appreciate the ergonomic elements of the DeathAdder V3 Pro. However, the lighter weight, sleek design, and the quick movements you can make with the Viper V3 Pro keeps it as the best Razer mouse so far. The DeathAdder V3 Pro still holds tremendous value, and for a Fortnite fan like myself, the bold loot pinata head in neon yellow makes it more interesting design-wise as part of my desk.

Next up on the list is the Razer BlackWidow V4 X. I won’t be going too in-depth with this keyboard, as my lengthy Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro review does a great job at covering why Razer’s latest line up of keyboards is some of their best yet. And, for that reason, I highly recommend the Razer BlackWidow V4 X, for many of the same reasons.

I'm disappointed that it doesn’t come with a detachable USB-C cable like the aforementioned Pro and the hot-swappable V4 75% version. However, the use of linear yellow switches, as well as the nice blue shade printed directly onto the chassis keeps the V4 X as a great option. Unfortunately, a lack of space means the iconic loot pinata doesn’t have many places to go, but having it small and bright above the arrow keys is certainly a great choice.

Like the rest of the BlackWidow V4 line up, the switches sound impeccable, and the layers of sound-dampening keep it quiet, yet satisfying for intense gaming. It does come with the caveat that it has ABS keys over the stronger PBT material, which is a shame, but the V4 X Fortnite Edition also looks far more interesting than standard BlackWidow models, so pros and cons.

Thirdly, we’ve got the Razer Kraken V3 X. Most of the Kraken lineup is a budget-friendly option of headphones that offer great audio and comfort, but they’re not as great as the more premium-priced BlackShark series of products, for example. I found them to be very satisfying, but I’d argue they’re the weakest of the bunch in terms of performance.

The all-plastic build somewhat drops it down in points, and while it’s very lightweight and comfortable for most long gaming sessions, the build quality does have me concerned for the Kraken’s lifespan. However, the drivers are surprisingly great for a pair of mid-budget headphones, the clear microphone had no issues whether in-game or during meetings, and best of all, I love the Fortnite-imposed design.

The loot pinata heads on both ear cups light up in various colors while powered, giving the most interesting use of the Fortnite branding in the set. While the lighting and the heads on either side don’t fit the apocalyptic and haphazard look of the rest of the Razer x Fortnite suite, even though the headband of the Kraken V3 X does, I do like it. I wish they would’ve gone further with it, though, like a broken-glass effect or something to link it to the overall theme more.

Finally, the last piece of the Razer x Fortnite puzzle is the Razer Goliathus Extended Chrome desk pad. This is easily the most Fortnite-ified product in the bundle, and rightfully so, with the entire pad printed blue, the same loot pinata head found on the BlackWidow V4 X and the DeathAdder (but much larger), and keeping to the design theme.

The lighting effects of the Goliathus are really nice, and give a good atmosphere to the rest of the gear on your desk. I’m not huge on the threads of material around the border that spread across the pad - they feel and look flimsy, and braided wires can scrape across the threads, causing concern that I’ve accidentally broken some of the chains holding the lights (it hasn’t happened yet, thankfully).

However, when paired with the DeathAdder V3 Pro, it feels very nice to play on. The non-slip rubber underneath the Goliathus helps keep it (mostly) in-place, and the micro-textured surface feels as smooth as butter to glide your mouse across. I think the price is a bit high, as you can get the excellent Firefly V2 Pro for around the same amount of money, but you’re getting the showstopper piece of the bundle with the Goliathus, and arguably, it ties the bundle together very well.

Unsurprisingly, Razer’s range of products are still excellent with the Fortnite branding plastered on them, and while I prefer some of Razer’s higher-priced offerings, this does a great job of giving you a suite of excellent peripherals that are worthy of equipping before your next trip in the battle bus.

I’m a little disappointed with some of the minor features within the various options in the bundle, but overall, the solid designs and the great use of the Fortnite IP make it a great purchase for fans of Epic Games’ beloved battle royale. If you’re planning to complete your bright and apocalyptic-style setup before you dive into your next match, the Razer x Fortnite suite is certainly worth picking up.

Razer x Fortnite Suite review
The Razer x Fortnite Suite bundles up some of the peripheral-manufacturer’s best gadgets, giving you everything you need to dominate your next battle royale match. While the Fortnite Edition products shares some of the minor problems that the standard products have too, the smart use of the IP, great design, and the great peripherals make it a worthy purchase for Fortnite fans.
