Finally, our dreams of having a convenient and advanced Virtual Reality headset are coming close to reality with the release of the second generation of the PlayStation headset. But when will we get our hands on it? Let's take a look at the PSVR 2 shipping date.
Sony has announced that the VR headset will ship in a bundle, alongside the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller, so you can get your hands on the latest generation tech.
But, now let's take a look at when it will start making its way to our homes. What is the PSVR 2 shipping date?
When will PSVR 2 ship?
Sony has confirmed that the PSVR 2 will start shipping on February 22, 2023. Preorders have also been opened in the same month of February, so you don't need an invite anymore but you can put your order in and be sure to get the VR headset as soon as possible.
Preorders are definitely recommended, as demand seem to be quite high and it is doubtful that you can find PSVR 2 in stock, at least not at launch. In the following months, Sony will surely try and keep the headsets available in shops for all other customers who want to buy it.
PSVR 2 price and specs
The headset will be priced at $549.99 / €599.99 / £529.99. There is also a bundle available, called PSVR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain, which will instead be available at $599.99 / €649.99 / £569.99.
The PSVR 2 will feature two OLED screens at 90/120 hz featuring 110 degrees FOV with six-axis motion sensing system. The headset will also have 4 embedded camera, IR proximity sensor and haptic vibration feedback, along with - of course - a microphone and a headphone jack.
This is all you need to know if you want to get your preorders in for PSVR 2. If you want to find out more about the headset, here is the PSVR 2 backward compatibility explained and all the games in its launch lineup.
