Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia Remake is currently in limbo, with many fans wondering when they can parkour all over the Sands of Time again. While the remake is still in development, an insider has claimed that the game is finished. Despite this, Ubisoft is canceling pre-orders anyway.
Many will remember how the game was criticized for dated-looking graphics in the reveal trailer. This led to the game suffering a hefty delay and months of silence from Ubisoft.
Despite the silence, it seems that the game is more than playable, but fans are unable to buy the title. But just what is going on here?
According to Lance McDonald on Twitter, the Prince of Persia Remake isn’t just finished but has gone gold. The remake has even passed Sony’s certification for its PS4 and PS5 release. Even with all of that done, McDonald doesn’t know why Ubisoft is so secretive with the game, especially since it’s a revival of a fan-favorite.
McDonald revealed that there are people able to play the game. As the game was uploaded to Sony’s servers, a number of hackers were able to decrypt and play the game using their pre-order keys. Nevertheless, normal users will be unable to touch the title.
When the first trailer was shown in a Ubisoft Forward, many felt that the visuals weren’t living up to the current hardware of gaming systems, hence the delay. If the game is supposedly done, there’s a good chance that the title is being overhauled or some other external factors are getting involved.
Oddly enough, this isn’t the weirdest game delay we’ve seen. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp should have been released by now, but the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has delayed it indefinitely, though one fan was able to access the game.

Unless Ubisoft says anything, it looks like we won’t be seeing the Prince of Persia Remake anytime soon. The game was slated to hit PS4, Xbox One, and PC but now we aren’t so sure.
