With the Oculus Quest 2 out in the wild, there are going to be a lot of people who are entering VR for the first time, or just upgrading their set-up to the latest device. If you're one of those people, then you'll probably be interested to know that you can actually make your games look even better, you just need to know-how. This new device is capable of 90hz, but it's not activated at the moment.
You have the power though, so this is how to enable 90hz on your Oculus Quest 2.
Before you enable 90Hz for Oculus Quest 2
The first thing you have to do is download SideQuest. This software lets you tinker with your Quest and do things you wouldn't normally be able to.
You'll also need a cable to connect your Oculus Quest 2 to your PC. This is usually going to be a USB-A to USB-C cable, but if your PC has the right ports you can also use a USB-C to USB-C cable.
Assuming you've got all of that, you just need to get onto actually setting things up.

How to enable 90Hz for Oculus Quest 2
Now that you've got everything set up, actually enabling 90hz is easy.
- Open up SideQuest
- Make sure your Quest 2 is connected to your PC via a USB cable
- Click the spanner on the top right of the SideQuest toolbar
- Click the 90hz button under the Refresh Rate section
- Turn off the screen of the Quest 2 and turn it back on
That should do it, you'll be able to live your best 90hz life now and get the most out of your Oculus Quest 2.
