Nvidia Shield TV owners are angry after massive adverts plague device

The Nvidia Shield TV line of Android TV boxes is often touted as the pinnacle of the platform. With a substantial amount of power, a sleek design and a fantastic remote, it's everything most Android users would want.

Despite this, new changes to the Nvidia Shield TV are making it hard for fans to continue enjoying. In a new update, the smart TV box has started bombarding users with a horde of unblockable advertisements. Needless to say, fans aren’t happy.

Nvidia Shield TV owners are miffed

Reported by Gizmodo, the latest Nvidia Shield TV update gave users a new UI design for the first time in a while. However, that redesign came with a slurry of adverts that's currently ruining what was once a clean home experience.

At the top of the screen, users are now being advertised content from a wide variety of streaming services. Furthermore, these content suggestions are not necessarily from the streaming services that the user is currently subscribed to.

Every suggestion is apparently based on Google recommendations. If Google sees that you enjoyed a series on Netflix, it could suggest a similar show on an Amazon Prime. The majority of users are visibly annoyed at this new inclusion.
