NVIDIA RTX 3090 size: Stunning image shows it's bigger than Xbox Series X

We're all still in awe of the specs announced for the new wave of RTX cards from NVIDIA. It was an excellent reveal event, and having seen some of the benchmark tests put out by the likes of Digital Foundry since, we're all itching to upgrade our PCs now.

The 3070, 3080, and 3090 all come with different levels of power and price points to match, but they're all impressive in different ways.

We all know that the 3090 is the most powerful and most expensive of the bunch, but did you know that it's also the largest?

Well, we've now seen an image that puts it in perspective properly, and it turns out it really is massive.

While we did get a glimpse of this GPU during the presentation itself, it's hard to gauge something like that without some references.

Well, thanks to Overclock 3D, we've now got a really good comparison image to go on. They tweeted an image showing the GPU alongside the current and next-gen consoles, and it towers above most of them.

You may need to consider a new PC case alongside the new GPU and potentially PSU if you want to be able to contain this thing.

What is the RTX 3090

The RTX 3090 is the highest-end of the high-end cards just announced by NVIDIA. It's going to cost £1,399, or around that, and will be releasing on September 24th.

The specs look like this too:

  • GPU: 7nm GA102-300
  • Board: PG132 SKU 30
  • CUDA Cores: 5248
  • Boost Clock: 1695 MHz
  • Memory: 24GB GDDR6X
  • Memory Bus: 384-bit
  • Bandwidth: 936 GB/s
  • TGP: 350W

As you can see, it's not just a beastly size, but the specifications are absurd. The price tag might be a little high for some, but if you can afford it, it's probably the best GPU out there.
