NVIDIA's ‘30 Series’ of cards has been revealed, and the NVIDIA RTX 3070 is one of them!
History has usually dictated that the ‘xx80’ line of graphics cards will be announced first, followed by the ‘xx70’, and then the ‘xx60’.
So it’s best to think of the ‘3070’ as a mid-range card, but only in GPU speed and memory.
So with that, here's what it can bring to your PC.
White GeForce RTX 3070 announced!
ZOTAC has revealed its GeForce RTX 3070 Twin Edge OC White edition, a white version of NVIDA's recently released graphics card. This version will offer the same clock speeds as the base version, with a completely white aesthetic that makes it perfect for anyone making an all-white PC.
The company has not yet revealed any information about the pricing or release date of its white 3070, but we'll update you when we know more.
You can check out the card on ZOTAC's website here.
NVIDIA RTX 3070 Price
The official NVIDIA reveal event has confirmed that prices for the GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card will start at $499, which makes this one of the most affordable options from NVIDIA's high-end range.
NVIDIA RTX 3070 Reveal Event
NVIDIA held a GeForce event on September 1 at 5 PM BST (9 AM PT), where the company decided to "usher in a new era, with a special presentation you won’t want to miss."
The event, which can be viewed here, was hosted by NVIDIA's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang. During the event, Huang opted to "highlight the company’s latest innovations in gaming and graphics."
NVIDIA RTX 3070 Release Date
As NVIDIA confirmed during the stream, the GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards was first released in October. They previously had announced the card would be available on October 15, however, this date later changed to October 29.
The change was first noticed by VideoCardz before NVIDIA issued a statement confirming the 3070's delay.
"Production of GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards are ramping quickly. We’ve heard from many of you that there should be more cards available on launch day," stated NVIDIA. "To help make that happen, we are updating the availability date to Thursday, October 29th."
"We know this may be disappointing to those eager to purchase a GeForce RTX 3070 as soon as possible," the company continued. "However this shift will help our global partners get more graphics cards into the hands of gamers on launch day."

The ‘XX70’ card from GeForce is usually seen as the ‘mid-range’ card, for PC setups that run games at ‘Ultra’ between 1080P-1440P. These will also be the standard for what will be in laptops from 2021, as history has dictated from the ‘10 Series’ and ‘20 Series’ in the last 4 years from NVIDIA.
But as the ‘30 Series’ will be based on the ‘Ampere’ architecture, expect the ‘3070’ to borrow from both the ‘3080’ and ‘3060’. There will be ample VRAM and processing power that will be able to render games at a high resolution at a high frame-rate, yet it will still be able to rival the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
Furthermore, as Tweaktown has reported, "Tom from Moore's Law is Dead tweeted out that he can confirm the GeForce RTX 3070 has around the same level of performance of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. He adds that "you all can do the math on how much stronger the 3080 & 3060 are relative to this based on the previous gen."
