While NVIDIA announced the mobile variant of their GeForce 30 Series back at CES in early January, fans have been waiting for the release date to arrive.
That time as finally come, with NVIDIA announcing this week that their mobile GPU is now arriving for laptops.
Alongside this, they have also announced ray-tracing support for 'The Medium', and 'Game Ready' drivers that are finely-tuned for certain games.
With that, lets break down this announcement from NVIDIA.
30 Series Details
Even though stock is in short supply of their desktop variants, the company seem confident that there's going to be plenty of laptops in stock that will house their GPU 30 Series variant.
NVIDIA said in a press release that "...over 70 designs coming from every major OEM - all powered by the new RTX 3080, 3070, and 3060 laptop GPUs. These laptops feature new 3rd generation Max-Q technologies including Dynamic Boost 2.0, WhisperMode 2.0, Resizable BAR, and DLSS."
These are all features that come from the 3060, 3070, 3080, and 3090 line of NVIDIA's desktop GPU, so its welcome to see them come to laptops.
They also stated about the availability of the laptops, mentioning that "...Global availability starts today (January 26th) for GeForce RTX gaming and creator laptops featuring GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPUs, followed by laptops with the GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU on February 2nd.."

Game Ready Drivers
Drivers by NVIDIA are a common place that have been either a bugbear or a welcome update to when the drivers render a game in an incorrect fashion. However, with their 'Game Ready' drivers, they're aiming to make sure that they're optimised for certain games, which goes through a process to make them certifiable for the driver.
NVIDIA made sure to say to us that "...are available on or before launch day for most major titles and are tuned for the best performance and flawless gameplay. All NVIDIA Game Ready Drivers are Microsoft WHQL-certified."
The company unashamedly want to show off their rendering skills, mentioning that 'The Medium' by 'Bloober Team' is launching on the 28th January, which "...is further enhanced by Microsoft DirectX Ray Tracing (DXR) and NVIDIA DLSS."
With the laptops due to arrive very soon, it will be interesting to see if some PC gamers look to these laptops with the 30 Series installed, especially if they have been hampered by scammers and scalpers
However, if you're looking for a gaming-orientated laptop that you can take with you when allowed, these machines look like the perfect use-case for it.
