The Nothing Phone 2a has been officially announced, and it looks like the best budget Android phone on the market. Following the release of its gorgeous predecessor, the new phone offers a huge two-day battery alongside a smattering of other goodies.

Starting at £319, the new Nothing Phone 2a is a budget take on the, well, Nothing Phone 2. Offering the same 6.78-inch AMOLED 120Hz display as its big brother alongside its 26-zone glyph system, the new device is a stunning-looking budget device for Android fans.

While it is a cheaper made device compared to the Phone 2, such as swapping out the metal chassis for plastic, nearly everything has made the jump to the cheaper model.

Powered by a 4-nanometer Dimensity 7200 Pro chip clocked at 2.8GHz, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage at £319 with 12 gigs of RAM and 256 GB storage for £349, it’s a remarkable package for its small price point. It’s not the huge gamer-focused specs of, say, an ROG Phone 8, but it’s still commendable.

Even more impressive is the phone’s massive battery, a huge 5,000MAh pack that charges to 100% in under an hour. Charging at a rapid 45w, you’ll also be able to hit 50% charge in just 23 minutes.

The Nothing Phone 2a also has a three camera setup, as expected of most phones nowadays with OIS. You’ll get access to a rear dual 50MP system on the rear, alongside the same exact 32MP selfie camera on the front.

Currently, multiple outlets already have their reviews out on the Nothing Phone 2a, and it seems that the device is already one of the best phones of 2024. Just like the early days of OnePlus phones and the PICO phones, the Nothing devices are creating a stellar budget device that doesn’t skimp.

“The Nothing Phone (2a) is a stylish, competent performer that will work as hard as you want it to, and look good while doing so. It's a no-brainer smartphone that anyone can love, whether your budget is small or large,” reads a review from WIRED.

The best news is that Nothing is planning years of support for the 2a. If you like the device, you won’t be expected to swap it out for years with new software updates and security patches coming for multiple years.

As the latest breakout phone company, Nothing is doing well to garner huge support from fans. Will you be picking up this latest budget phone?
