Nintendo Switch web browser: How to access the internet on your Switch or Switch Lite

The Nintendo Switch is an extraordinary thing.

As both a handheld and a console, you can either take it with you or play on the big screen.

Unfortunately, it doesn't have an internet browser, which is frustrating when you can access the internet on basically anything else.

Well, it turns out that there's a way to surf the internet on your Switch, you just need to know how.

How to access the internet on your Nintendo Switch

RIght, two things before we start. First of all, thanks to More for sharing this method in the first place. Secondly, this isn't a particularly safe way to browse the internet, so we don't recommend logging into anything at all or using personal information. Right then, here we go:

  • Select System Settings from the home screen
  • Select Internet
  • Select Internet Settings
  • Select your Wi-Fi connection
  • Go to the settings page for that connection and select Change Settings
  • Select DNS Settings
  • Change the setting to Manual
  • Set your Primary DNS as 0.450.55.142.122 and select Save
  • Click OK
  • Select Connect to This Network
  • You should see "Registration is required to use this network"
  • Select Next
  • Select Connect to Google

Ta da, you're all done and can now browse the web on your Nintendo Switch. Aren't you clever?

How to undo the changes

You'll want to set things back to normal once you've had your fun on the internet. Otherwise, you'll be stuck forever in this weird digital limbo, and nobody wants that. Here's how to revert what you've done:

  • Select System Settings from the home screen
  • Select Internet
  • Select Internet Settings
  • Select your Wi-Fi connection
  • Go to the settings page for that connection and select Change Settings
  • Select DNS Settings
  • Change the setting to Automatic

That's it, you've now undone the changes you'd made to access the internet.
