The Flash is a reboot of the DC universe, as all future projects in the series will stem from the events that take place in the film.
In The Flash, the main character Barry Allen will travel back in time to stop the murder of his mother. However, the act of travelling through time will bring unintended consequences.
The movie is set to feature a number of characters from the DC universe, including appearances from two different Batman characters in the form of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton.

There’s also a number of images which show character’s in costume on set, including a first look at Supergirl.Sasha Calle will play Supergirl in the movie, although it’s unclear just how much of an affect her character will have on the plot.
Leaked photos also show Ezra Miller in character as Barry Allen on steps in London and Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne.
Ongoing production
The Flash is still currently in production, and is expected to release late next year during November. Development on the movie started in 2004, but the project went through multiple directors over the years until Andy Muschietti and Christina Hodson joined the project in 2019.
Michael Keaton will reprise his role as Batman in the film, a role he hasn’t played for over 20 years. Both Keaton’s and Affleck’s characters will play a primary role in the film's plot. However, it isn’t clear if the two different versions of Batman will interact in the story.
