Since parting ways with Kojima, Konami has been criticised for focusing much of their attention on Pachinko machines of all things. But, it seems that the Japanese company has seen the light and might be remaking Metal Gear Solid 3 as one of their next projects.

In the latest episode of the VGC podcast, video game industry veteran Andy Robinson shared insider information that points to Konami announcing their remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater at E3 in June - mere months away.

"There's this much discussed Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, which I also expect them to finally show,” Robinsons says in the podcast. "MGS3 Remake is now a 2024 title and there's still talk of MGS re-releases of some kind."

Of course, there's been lots of talk about the state of E3 and whether or not the gaming event will go ahead after numerous publishers pulled out. But, either way, if this information is true, then Konami seems determined to announce the PS2 classic this summer and then release it next year.

Many players consider Snake Eater to be the best in the series, with gameplay featuring survival aspects like being able to wear different camouflage to fit in with your surroundings. You can also eat mangrove crabs and snakes (it's in the title).

Those players, however, are wrong, and you can't dethrone Metal Gear Solid 2. You never know, though, we might finally get a third-person remake of the second game if Konami decides to ever publish games again.
