Ms Marvel hasn’t been around for very long at all. While the superhero fangirl has quickly become a fan-favourite, she's only been around since 2013. Nevertheless, the superhero will be making her debut live-action debut in the MCU next year.
Releasing on Disney Plus later this year, the Ms Marvel show is still a mysterious addition to the MCU. While shows like WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter and Loki had clear intentions on furthering the main storyline, this new show is far vaguer. However, it should still be very important.
Ms Marvel is an important milestone for the MCU
In an interview with Variety, Marvel's Ms Marvel actress Iman Vellani revealed how important the show is to the MCU. Until recently, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been very focused on its cast of snarky, buff white dudes. While Black Panther, Captain Marvel WandaVision and Black Widow are attempting to bring more diversity, newer projects are key.
For Vellani, Ms Marvel’s introduction of a Pakistani hero into the MCU is a huge deal. As a Pakistani Muslim herself, the inclusion of a superhero that represents her is unfathomably important. She explained:
“The fact that the show is being made and they’re including this character in the MCU is [what’s important]. I don’t really have to go out of my way and talk about being a Muslim and being Pakistani - it all comes out in the show. People seeing a person like me involved in a project as big as this is, I think, inspiring enough."

The character will be huge in the MCU
Yes, Ms Marvel can change in size due to her superpowers, but that's not the kind of huge we’re talking about here! The character of Kamala Khan is already set to be included in more projects than just her standalone TV show.
It’s already been confirmed that the superhero will be included in the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel. Titled The Marvels, this new movie will see Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau team up for one epic movie.
