This may be a shock to some, but there are PC's out there that only have games such as 'Majong', 'Minesweeper', 'Solitaire' and other games only installed.
There's also other PC's that don't have the latest version of Windows; some are on Windows 8 and even XP; but sometimes you just need to say goodbye and upgrade.
Which is why Microsoft have announced the end of supporting certain games on Windows 8 and 8.1 computers.
With that, let's see what games have had its support end on these machines.
Which Games are Affected?
At Microsoft's 'Casual Games' site, they had posted that '...with deep regret, we are unable to dedicate the necessary resources to continue providing these beloved games on this platform. '
The games that are affected by this are:
- Microsoft Solitaire Collection
- Microsoft Mahjong
- Microsoft Sudoku
- Microsoft Ultimate Word Games
- Microsoft Minesweeper
- Microsoft Jigsaw
- Microsoft Treasure Hunt
It should be noted that you will be able to play these games after support ends; but if you experience any bugs or glitches, they won't be fixed.

When does Support End?
In the same post, they also mentioned when the support will end.
With Microsoft announcing the end of some support for the Windows 8 platform from the 14th December, the support for these games ends on the 5th April.
They have recommended to upgrade your PC to Windows 10 so that support of the games will continue, alongside playing them on their website or on your phone.
However, if you're thinking that your machine has suffered from one loss of support too many, it may be time to look at a Windows 10 upgrade.
