It looks like the rumoured Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 leak is real and an announcement could be coming. While most of us figured that a second volume was coming, the content it holds was questionable until this revelation.
Twitter user Nitroid first revealed the second Master Collection and the fact that it would include MGS 4, MGS 5, and Peace Walker. Although that seemed like wishful thinking, IGN confirmed that this was happening and has asked Konami for any comments.
As we mentioned earlier, most of us knew that Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 would be coming. That big Vol. 1 gave it away if we’re being honest. However, many of us remained unsure because Metal Gear Solid 4 hasn’t been ported anywhere since being released on PS3. Now that we know it’s legitimate, we’re excited to see how this port is going to look on other systems.
Fans assumed that the evolution of technology would lead to MGS 4 getting ported to other systems faster but that never happened. Konami never re-released the game on PS4, Xbox One, or PC. Because of this, many felt that the PS3 was the ultimate Metal Gear machine, minus Twin Snakes from the Gamecube.
Now that this collection seems to be official, we’re just waiting for Konami to confirm that it’s official. We already know that second volume is coming and the fact that it might have Metal Gear Solid 4 Remastered is tantilizing. Sure, it’s not even the best Metal Gear in the series but its lack of availability makes it special.
Overall, we can’t wait for this full collection to come out and play these games on modern platforms. Beyond the MGS 4 re-release, new chances to play Metal Gear Solid 5 or Peace Walker on a Switch have us excited.
