Tim Roth's incarnation of Abomination was one of the first villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Introduced in 2008's The Incredible Hulk, the gamma-ray supervillain fought against Edward Norton's Hulk — not Mark Ruffalo.
While the character returned for this year's Shang-Chi, Abomination will also return in She-Hulk. However, with over a decade between his first run as the character, Tim Roth needed help from another Mark Ruffalo to perfect his return.
Tim Roth needed help from Mark Ruffalo
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Roth admitted that it wasn't easy to return. After a decade of evolution, the MCU had started to treat characters such as Abomination and Hulk very differently.
As a result, characters like Abomination will presumably be written more human than before. In his first outing, the character was essentially just an evil beast. In She-Hulk, Roth admits that the character will at least be treated with a little bit of humour.
He said:
“I did The Incredible Hulk years ago, just because I thought my kids would be embarrassed by it. I did it for them and I really enjoyed making it. So when they came to me and said: ‘We’re adapting the She-Hulk thing. Can you come back as that character again?’ I was like, sure. It should be fun. I was very surprised though because it was difficult at first. It was only when Mark Ruffalo came in to shoot his stuff [reprising his role as Bruce Banner] that I went: ‘Oh, that’s how you do it! With a sense of humor!’”

She-Hulk is a comedy
Reports have claimed that She-Hulk will be treated a political comedy. As a result, many small-scale Marvel characters will reportedly be introduced. For example, Hulk’s son Skaar is said to be a major part of the story with some saying She-Hulk will be defending Bruce Banner in court.
Other reports claim that Daredevil will be making his MCU debut in the show. Reportedly still played by Netflix Daredevil actor Charlie Cox, the vigilante could make his first appearance here instead of in No Way Home.
